Valve Has A Hefty Discount In Store For Those Who Want Steam Deck!

TECH NEWS – Get a 512GB original Steam Deck cheaper than the 256GB version thanks to Valve’s 15% sale!

What else can be said about Valve’s Steam Deck that hasn’t already been said? I guess it could be pointed out that it wasn’t the first handheld gaming PC and that it wasn’t the most powerful you could buy. But it doesn’t really matter because what Steam Deck offers compared to its competitors is a miles better comprehensive, complete experience.

Valve’s Steam Deck ecosystem puts other handheld gaming PCs to shame. The vast library of compatibility-checked games and the work Valve has done to make a Linux-based operating system handle Windows-based games so well have not been matched by Asus, Lenovo, MSI and others.

Underneath the 7-inch 1280 x 800 LCD screen is the heart of the Steam Deck, a small 15W APU made by AMD. With only four cores and a boost clock of 3.5GHz, you’d think it wouldn’t be that powerful. But we would be pretty wrong. Even with a handful of RDNA 2 shaders, it can handle a lot better than many people think.

When it came out in 2022, it was best to get the 256GB model, as you could replace the NVMe drive inside with a much larger and faster gaming SSD.

But at $529, it wasn’t particularly cheap, and it lacked the extra fancy etched glass screen of the 512GB model.

With the release of the updated OLED Steam Deck, this price has been reduced. Now until July 11, Valve is selling the last stocks of the 64GB and 512GB models for 15% off. And we vote for the latter, partly because it has the best display among the original Steam Decks, but mostly because it is really cheaper than the 256 GB model!

Yes, that’s right – you can get the 512 GB Steam Deck for just $382. This is an absurdly low price and worth every forint.

But what games should you buy? How about Hades, one of the best roguelike action RPGs ever made? Baldur’s Gate 3 is another RPG that is a must for Deck owners (or anyone else). Vampire Survivors would also get our vote.

Your biggest problem won’t be selection, as Steam Deck runs more games than you’ll ever have time to try…

The problem is that you will need ample storage space to store them all. However, 512 GB is a decent enough amount to start with. Perhaps the biggest problem is that Valve will eventually run out of stock of the original device.

If you’ve been debating whether or not to buy a Steam Deck for a while, now is probably the time…
