Assassin’s Creed Remakes Incoming?! Important Announcement From Ubisoft

Until now, it was reported that the developer was only working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, but it seems that the situation is even better…

In order to bring back the most beloved franchises, Ubisoft recently announced that it is developing remakes, such as the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Or the remake of the almost forgotten Splinter Cell, about which there has not been much news since the presentation years ago. This philosophy also extends to the French company’s currently most important brand. The head of Ubisoft has now confirmed that some remakes of the Assassin’s Creed saga are already in the works.

Asked about the future of the AC series, Yves Guillemot stated that “players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them.”

In an interview published on Ubisoft’s official website, he emphasized that “there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich”, so they still offer a lot to players. “The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.”

Fans of the series are currently awaiting the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will finally bring the action of the series to Japan. Here, we will be able to play as the samurai Yasuke and the ninja Naoe, both in their own way.

The future of the Assassin’s Creed series looks promising

Last year’s AC Mirage was a “return to the roots”, the location far behind the vast open worlds of the previous games in the series – Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. At the expense of the RPG elements of the previous instalments, it again focused on stealth. When asked if we could see more Assassin’s Creed offerings, Guillemot was clear.

“There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from AC Shadows.”

“We’re going to surprise people, I think”, concluded the founder and CEO of Ubisoft. It’s worth recalling that just a few months ago, there were rumours that Ubisoft was working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, which now makes even more sense in light of Guillemot’s words. However, it seems clear that we will have to wait a long time to learn anything more in-depth about these remakes. Because it looks like Black Flag, at least, is still in the early stages of development.
