This Sci-Fi RPG Combines the Best of Mass Effect and Skyrim! [VIDEO]

Plus, thanks to Unreal Engine 5, this sci-fi RPG also looks fantastic…

We live in a wonderful era of video games where the standards of visuals, gameplay and storytelling are constantly rising, and this upcoming sci-fi RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5 looks set to raise the bar.

At the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s, many of us thought that there could be no better graphics than this. Games like WWF No Mercy on the Nintendo 64 and Resident Evil 2 on the original PlayStation wowed audiences. These were quite realistic by the standards of the time.

Today, I’m sure we all say the same, as video games often blur reality with realistic graphics like H.P. Lovecraft-inspired horror game The Chinese Room, Still Wakes the Deep, now available on Xbox Game Pass, or racing games like Forza Motorsport on Xbox Series X.

Another video game that seems to blur the boundaries of reality is Archetype Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Exodus, which was first announced during The Game Awards 2023 and is aimed at fans of Mass Effect and Skyrim.

If that wasn’t enough, the game will be not only beautiful but also meaningful. At least the narrative promises to be interesting. Coincidentally, Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey plays the main role.

In addition, the development studio is made up of former BioWare employees. They worked on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age, Dragon Age: Origins and the Mass Effect series. So we can guess that they are a pretty talented company. During the announcement, we saw a stunning Exodus trailer powered by Unreal Engine 5 that dropped the jaws of those in attendance and those watching at home.

“Having fled a dying Earth, humanity has found a new home in a hostile galaxy, reads the Exodus synopsis. “Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope.”

A release date for Exodus has not been announced at the time of writing. It is currently scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
