We Can Now Play the Elden Ring DLC: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree with a Friend!

The Seamless Co-Op mod now works in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, so you don’t have to go through it alone.

LukeYui, the developer behind the mod, has updated Seamless Co-Op to work with the latest DLC. Elden Ring version 1.12 is now supported thanks to completely rewritten code. Some old bugs (such as enemies falling through the ground) are no longer present. Items obtained through dialog will be obtained by everyone, not just the player talking to the other character. Event flags have been properly synchronized, and enemy-level settings have been added to the new version of the mod.

A player can also wear the number of times he’s died as a banner, it’s possible to view the current gameplay password in-game, the mod supports ModEngine 2, and matchmaking has been given a validation option. This means that only players using the same mods can connect. Finally, it’s optional, but there are invasions, but it’s not mandatory. So the same functionality you see in the Souls games will be applicable here.

LukeYui pointed out that the mod is not perfect yet, as there are still some bugs: “Although it is not perfect, it has reached a state where it can be used to play Elden Ring and the DLC in co-op. I’m aware that there are still some bugs in it and will continue to work on it after the initial release – the next few days will be crucial so that I can work on fixing any problematic issues quickly should they arise”.

As a testament to the success of the mod, the game’s director (and From Software’s director), Hidetaka Miyazaki, has also mentioned it. We’ve previously written that this free-form co-op system could officially appear in future games from the Japanese studio, so it’s not just PC gamers who could benefit.
