Xbox Live has Collapsed – The Company was “Investigating” the Possible Causes and Solutions!

TECH NEWS – The Xbox Live service has finally been restored after a break of more than seven hours.

Xbox Live was down for seven hours yesterday. Players who attempted to log into their accounts in the afternoon found that they were unable to log in and play as usual. Microsoft describes the incident as a “significant outage” on its official Xbox Live status page.

According to the company, the service problems began shortly after 2 p.m. EST, and the website Downdetector reported a peak of more than 38,000 individual outage reports around 3 p.m.

While some have shared that they were finally able to sign in to Xbox Live, Microsoft says sign-in issues are affecting Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 consoles, as well as mobile devices, web services, cloud gaming, backward compatibility, and Xbox on Windows is also affected. No explanation was given for the malfunction. But Microsoft said in an X/Twitter post that it was “investigating” the issue while telling affected players to visit its status page for updates.

“You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems,” the status page said that night. “Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activities won’t be available.”

The widespread Xbox Live outage meant thousands of players had questions and time to ask them. Many of them were quick to share memes on social media as they searched for answers. They were all in the same boat while waiting for Microsoft to come out with good news. Many were just happy that they weren’t the only ones facing a game stoppage.

Xbox Live services are available again. Xbox has not commented on the cause of the outage but has since confirmed that users can resume using related devices and services. Hopefully, we will learn more about the reason for the long layoff in the future. (As well as what the company does to prevent this from happening too often…)
