A GTA Online player has discovered that the game directly references GTA VI, the sequel fans have been waiting for. We had to be a bit on the lookout to find it, but here it is.

It’s been ten years since Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since then, the latest instalment in Rockstar Games’ famous saga has appeared in almost every possible medium. A bit like Bethesda’s Skyrim. So yes, the game is clearly a well-deserved success. At the same time, we have been legitimately waiting for something new for a long time. The fans’ wait was rewarded at the beginning of December 2023 with the first official trailer of the sixth part.

Of course, everyone analyzed the one-minute-thirty-second video frame by frame to ensure we didn’t miss anything.

After all, that’s all we can hold onto for a moment. Since GTA VI probably won’t be released until the first quarter of 2025, we’re trying to get the most out of it. Even if it means asking questions, no one else has thought of. This time, however, it is an entirely different kind of winking. We recently learned that GTA VI is present in another game from the studio, GTA Online!

GTA Online, released two weeks after GTA V, is, as the name suggests, an online multiplayer game. It is still very active today and is constantly being developed. At the end of June, it received an expansion called Bottom Dollar Bounties. The latter contains a reference to Rockstar’s next title. Reddit user DogWifDreads shared his discovery in the form of 2 screenshots. The first is from the GTA VI trailer and serves as an illustration for this article. The second one below is from GTA Online after last month’s update.

Did you notice what’s in common? The silver necklace worn by the woman in the white bikini is available in a shop in GTA Online! Granted, it’s a small detail, but it’s interesting to note. Because it indicates that we will be able to discover other GTA VI objects even before the release. All we have to do is watch the trailer again and make comparisons…
