PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium: the July 2024 Update

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced on time the titles that players who subscribe to the mid-tier or top tier of PlayStation Plus will soon have access to on the Sony network.

We already reported on some of the games yesterday, as billbil-kun listed a few titles on the French-language Dealabs website, and seeing previous leaks of PlayStation Plus (Essential), we weren’t surprised that he was accurate this time around. PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will have access to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Deadcraft (PlayStation 4), Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), No More Heroes III (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), The Jackbox Party Pack 9 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Remnant II (PlayStation 5), Steep (PlayStation 4) and Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition (PlayStation 4). There is also a PlayStation VR2 title, Job Simulator.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers are in for another disappointment as Sony once again adds a ridiculously small number of games. In addition to what they’ve got so far, they’re getting the following three (!) games: Summoner (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), which was originally released for PlayStation 2; Jeanne d’Arc (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), and these two games were originally released for PSP. So for those who might want to play older games on console (because let’s be honest, PSP titles can now run on an APU, a processor with an integrated graphics chip…), you don’t get a big upgrade, and a PS2 emulation isn’t that system intensive these days.

PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Pllus Premium subscribers will get these titles on July 15, early next week. Of course, Sony is still refusing to announce the DEPARTING games on the PlayStation Blog. So transparency is still a long way off for the company, and Microsoft is better at it.
