Legendary Face/Off Director John Woo Is Remaking One of His Own Movies – Here’s the Trailer! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – John Woo, director of some of the best action movies of the ’90s, is remaking one of his early classics for Peacock.

Legendary action director John Woo, the visionary filmmaker behind Face/Off, Paycheck, Broken Arrow and Hard Boiled, returns with a radical reimagining of his 1989 Hong Kong classic, The Killer. Not only does the project feature the renowned filmmaker’s remake of his own film, but the new version also features the Oscar-winning producer of Oppenheimer and features everything action movie fans are looking for: professional assassins, revenge, and plenty of explosive shootouts.

You can find the newly released trailer for John Woo’s The Killer at the end of this article.

The dynamic action thriller stars Emmy nominee Nathalie Emmanuel (The Fast saga, Game of Thrones).

She plays Zee, a mysterious and notorious assassin known and feared in the Parisian underworld as the Queen of Death. But when, during an assignment given to her by her mentor (Avatar’s Sam Worthington), Zee refuses to kill a blind young woman (Diana Silvers) in a Paris nightclub, the decision upends Zee’s life, attracting the attention of a cunning police detective’s (the Golden Globe -candidate Omar Sy) attention and plunges her into a dark criminal conspiracy that also haunts her own past…

The film’s five-star international cast includes renowned French actors Eric Cantona, Saϊd Taghmaoui, Tchéky Karyó and Grégory Montel. Also Angeles Woo and Aurélia Agel.

A reimagining of the John Woo classic is coming to Peacock next month

The Killer is based on the 1989 motion picture, which was also originally written and directed by John Woo. The original film starred Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee and Sally Yeh. Acclaimed by critics, the action film became famous, especially in the Western world

This is mainly due to its exaggerated style, use of violence, stylized choreography, duels, and slow motion. All of these can now be considered trademarks of the director. There is no doubt that many will be curious to see how Woo can reimagine his former film. Also, whether the cinema will be able to live up to its predecessor. However, it will definitely be exciting to see how the filmmaker uses modern filmmaking techniques to adapt The Killer to a whole new audience…
