Fortnite: if You’ve a New Intel Top-of-the-Line CPU, we’ll Show you a Fix to Constant Crashing!

TECH NEWS – If you have one of Intel’s more powerful 14th or 13th generation processors, you may have noticed that some games aren’t very stable.

Although Intel processors have gotten more powerful lately, their power consumption has also increased significantly… and instability is happening in more than one game. But even the developers do not tolerate this anymore: Alderon Games has explicitly suggested switching from Intel to AMD, and even the developers of Warframe have shown how Intel’s current two latest CPU generations are killing the game.

Epic Games (whose technology, Unreal Engine 4/5, is used by many studios) has a guide on how to avoid the glitches in Fortnite. These are for Core i9-13900K/KF/KS or Core i9-14900K/KF/KS processors, basically the two top processors. First, we need to find out who the manufacturer of our motherboard is. If you don’t know off the top of your head, press Windows+R, type msinfo32 in the Run box, press Enter, MSinfo will open, select System Summary, and check the motherboard manufacturer.

If you have an Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI board, follow these steps, otherwise contact Epic Customer Support. Reboot your machine, enter the BIOS (this may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer), go into Advanced mode, usually accessed by pressing F7, look for the AI Tweaker or Extreme Tweaker tab. Change the SVID Behavior setting to Intel Fail Safe, save and reboot.

This will reset the Intel processor to factory settings, resulting in lower power consumption and improved stability. This in turn will lead to a performance loss of up to more than 10% (!). So Intel’s current workaround is also a compromise. There can only be one solution: with the new processor generation, Arrow Lake-S, it would be easier to offer more stable, less power-consuming products…
