TECH NEWS – The new HyperOS will bring several new options, including virtual expansion of system memory.
The Chinese technology company’s HyperOS has received a new version of its operating system, taking it from one to two. The software is characterized by increased performance, easy connectivity and ease of use, but we should also mention the redesigned user interface, notification interface and quick links. Xiaomi has also made some changes in the security area and plans to continue innovating based on the good feedback.
With HyperOS 2.0, it will be possible to virtually expand the system memory. It was previously mentioned that it could be increased by an additional 6 gigabytes, but two additional options will be available to users, allowing for an additional 12 or even 16 gigabytes of memory. This virtual RAM expansion has been available for some time and is usually useful. It’s usually enabled by default on phones, but we rarely get around to actually using it, because in most cases 8GB of RAM is enough for a mobile phone, and more is usually not needed, but of course the exception tends to prove the rule.
It’s usually a good idea to turn this feature off, because it reduces the load on your memory. Or, if not, HyperOS 2.0 will soon be available for high-end Xiaomi phones, and then of course mobile phones will evolve. But let’s not forget that phones collect personal data and characteristics for personalized advertising, analytics and product testing, and cookies and other methods track usage patterns.
And under the law, what Xiaomi is doing is legal, and of course users can control what they allow their phone to do, and they can also opt out of certain things that might change the user experience. Either way, it’s still a phone from a Chinese tech company, so who knows what they’re collecting on users.
