MOVIE NEWS – Disney is trying to exploit the success of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie in many ways, but according to the parents, maybe the two characters are not suitable for Disneyland…
While the success of Deadpool & Wolverine seems to prove that Disney is on the right track after embracing Ryan Reynolds’ crazy idea for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s a point where people think they’ve gone too far. According to many, this point came when they tried to peak the success by taking the film’s characters to Disneyland to fool around with Mickey Mouse dolls and children.
Disney has decided to bring the film’s superheroes, Deadpool and Wolverine, to the Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure to conclude the spectacular promotional campaign related to the film that has been going on for the past few weeks. A meet & greet like adults and kids are used to with other Disney, Marvel and Star Wars characters.
However, the superheroes retain their usual role, which, let’s face it, isn’t exactly kid-friendly.
Parents are freaking out that Deadpool and Wolverine has become a theme park Disney attraction
It’s a fact that the two rough heroes took back when it came to swearing. However, the irony remained: they poked fun at recent changes to the park, such as the closing of Splash Mountain, or other controversies surrounding the film itself, such as Disney’s acquisition of the Fox studio. Most of the audience took the joke for what it was. However, a particular group wasn’t amused by promoting a movie categorized as adults to a park full of kids.
Organized through networks, parents are now calling for a boycott of the amusement park because, in addition to not considering the characters suitable for a child audience, they claim that children now want to see these heroes in the cinema, even though in the United States this movie is rated R.
All of this sounds a little strange after Disney has already embraced characters such as the Alien in Disney Hollywood Studios’ legendary The Great Movie Ride. Maybe they should be more concerned about the summer heat the poor actors will have to endure in these costumes…
