Gothic Remake: Beautiful New Trailer, but When Will It Be Released?! [VIDEO]

The game from THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive has been in development for a long time, but we still have no idea when it will be released…

At the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase several things were announced (so today’s news will include several of their announcements, and the announcement of the new Darksiders came from there), so after a long time several projects were shown to the public. One of these projects was the Gothic Remake, which is slowly but surely on its way to completion and already looks very promising (but it was this franchise that later took the amnesia theme to an almost frivolous extreme).

Prisoners, it’s time to face reality and accept your fate. Make yourself at home in the Valley of Mines, a place of danger, crime and greed. You will be here for a very. Long. Long time. In Gothic 1 Remake, you will be thrown into the Colony, a massive open-air prison with no chance of escape. Strays and loners won’t get far here, so explore the valley’s three different camps and join one to survive. Immerse yourself in a living world and experience some of the most immersive environments you’ve ever seen in a video game. Learn how your choices affect the story and even the fate of the colony. Welcome to the world of Gothic. Welcome to the Colony.

We’ve heard so little about the game that there was a trailer last August, a collector’s edition three months ago, and before that we saw it at the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022. That’s not much. Alkimia Interactive is not the same as Piranha Bytes, the developer of the original. The studio previously opened its doors as THQ Nordic Barcelona, and a prototype for Gothic Remake appeared on Steam in December 2019, so the game has been in development for nearly five years and still has no release date.

All we know is that it’s coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, in addition to the PC.
