“I really hope that when people play for the first time, they will understand that the choices we made were the best possible,” says Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is just a few weeks away, the return of one of the best survival horror games in history. Konami has entrusted the Bloober Team, creators of Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, Observer and The Medium, to develop the large-scale project. However, some fans do not really trust the Polish studio. Mainly because one of the trailers did not “reflect the spirit of the game”, and the work of the studio is not bright enough to be entrusted with the remake.
The CEO of Bloober Team, Piotr Babieno, also knows the latter. He said all this in his interview with RollingStone, discussing the importance of Silent Hill 2 Remake. The Polish team is also working on another ambitious title with Take-Two. “I am dreaming that gamers will trust us, but I realize that trust is earned through actions, not through words. So that’s why we have a policy of not commenting [on the specifics of the game] and raising hopes.” – he explains.
“We want to show our ambitions through our work, so we can’t ask for anything more than ‘give us a chance.'”
Still, Babieno was very attentive to the community’s constructive criticism, which the studio used to “refine” the project ahead of its October 7, 2024 release. “I really hope that when people play for the first time, they will understand that the choices we made were the best possible,” he says. It should not be forgotten that the Bloober Team decided to make a Silent Hill 2 Remake that is faithful to the original, unlike what some developers wanted with the game released in 2001.
Konami is committed to Bloober Team and the future of the Silent Hill series
A few days ago, we heard that Konami was fully committed to the Silent Hill series. He will release more games in the future. This was revealed by the Japanese company in its latest financial report. “We will continue to create completely new titles in the Silent Hill series, and through the ‘Silent Hill Transmission’ program, we intend to offer a variety of information that will be simulcast worldwide.”
