Popular Feature to Return in Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3!

According to Naoki Hamaguchi, Square Enix is working on a minigame “revamped or even better version” for the final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.

After the completion of the development of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, several teams of Square Enix got to work on the third part of the adventure that began in 2020 with Final Fantasy VII Remake. It will probably take a few more years for the project to see the light of day. But the people behind the series are sharing little tidbits of information to keep fans interested. And in their last public appearance, they confirmed that the addictive card game Queen’s Blood will return in the next title.

Specifically, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed this important tidbit during a panel discussion at Otacon, an annual American anime convention. As seen in a video posted on X by user neo_aoshi (via Eurogamer ), he used the conversation with other Final Fantasy producers and voice actors to confirm not only the minigame’s return but its continued development.

“Actually I’ve been receiving so many requests,” the director begins in response to a fan asking about the real version of Queen’s Blood.

“Right now, we are preparing a revamped or even better version of Queen’s Blood for the next title of this series. So I hope to be able to share more in the near future.” Minutes later, the developers shared their favourite Final Fantasy VII Rebirth minigame, making it clear that many Square Enix members enjoy playing the card game.

The third part of Final Fantasy VII Remake will give the player more freedom

So what can we say about the third instalment of Final Fantasy VII Remake beyond the return of the minigames? Square Enix hasn’t revealed many details about it yet. However, we already know that the team wants to give the player more freedom and new mechanics. According to Hamaguchi himself, the developers are working to give fans “a different gaming experience than Remake and Rebirth”. Perhaps soon, it will become clear what exactly this entails…
