Silent Hill 2 Remake Team Desires a Chance!

The Bloober team knows that the public doesn’t have much faith in the Polish studio when it comes to the remake of Konami’s evergreen game, and that’s why we can only “reward” the developers with raised eyebrows.

Konami announced the Silent Hill 2 Remake back in 2022, and it’s coming soon. The reception has not been overwhelmingly positive, which is no surprise since Bloober Team’s games can be very rambunctious. For example, 2016’s Layers of Fear and its sequel, maybe 2019’s Blair Witch, weren’t very good (to put it mildly), but The Medium, maybe 2023’s Layers of Fear, weren’t so bad in comparison. So it is not so predictable what we will get from the Polish studio.

Silent Hill Ascension, which is more or less in the style of Twitch Plays, also has a rather chaotic track record, as it was written so badly that it looks like the script was created with the help of artificial intelligence, but the production company has denied these accusations. As for the Silent Hill 2 remake, neither Konami nor Bloober Team have said much about it, and last year the Polish company asked for a little patience, claiming at the time that once the publisher had more information about the game, it would be worth waiting for.

According to Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, the remake is a big journey to find a balance between preservation and innovation, and there is a lot of cooperation between them and Konami. And in an interview with Rolling Stone, he asked us to give them a chance: “It took us a long time to get there, with a lot of creative discussion and hard work, but we are very happy with the result. My dream is that players will trust us, but I know that trust is earned through actions, not words. That’s why we have a policy of not commenting [on the specifics of the game] and not raising hopes. We want to show our ambitions through our work, so we can’t ask for anything more than ‘Give us a chance.'”

Silent Hill 2 Remake is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8th.
