DOOM + DOOM II: Doomguy Relaunches with Extra Content [VIDEO]

Bethesda and id Software have already released (!) a pair of games that are available on all modern platforms, but not everyone needs to buy the two games again.

Anyone who owns DOOM or DOOM II will get DOOM + DOOM II as a free update. But what does the $10 bundle include? In addition to the two base games, you’ll get TNT: Evilution, The Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for DOOM II, No Rest for the Living, a new episode called Legacy of Rust (co-produced by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames), and a new Deathmatch Map Pack containing twenty-five maps. In total, there are 187 mission maps and 43 deathmatch maps.

Online, cross-platform deathmatch and co-op play is available with up to sixteen players, and the mod browser in the package has mod support, with a choice of the original MIDI-based soundtrack or the new IDKFA version (by Andew Hulshult with new DOOM II recordings). The games run on the KEX engine, and BOOM support means that mods from the last 25 years can be included. With multi-threaded rendering you can play at up to 4K and 120 FPS on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. Easy-to-use options (modern fonts, higher contrast, text-to-speech, speech-to-speech text in chat…) and new languages supported (Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional and Simplified Chinese).

DOOM + DOOM II also includes a number of new features, including improved visuals, support for modern controllers, gyroscopic aiming (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch), better mouse/keyboard controls, but also local split-screen co-op or deathmatch for up to four players and community mods like REKKR, Revolution!, Syringe, Double Impact and Arrival, with more mods to come over time, native 16:9 support up to 1080p at 60fps frame rate, original hardware restored with original music, fast save/load, and support for DeHacked mods.

DOOM + DOOM II is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
