Shadows of Doubt: The Steam Hit Game is Coming to Consoles!

Shadows of Doubt, an immersive detective simulator, has garnered over 91% positive reviews on Steam after nearly 10,000 reviews…

Shadows of Doubt’s Early Access release was one of last year’s most pleasant surprises. With its open world, cyberpunk aesthetic, sandbox operation, and criminal investigation-focused game, it has gathered many fans in the nearly 18 months since its release on Steam. This popularity has now led to some excellent news: the final release is just around the corner, bringing PS5 and Xbox Series versions with it, and even a physical release is planned!

In Shadows of Doubt, you never know where an investigation will lead

What sets Shadows of Doubt apart from other crime-focused detective games is its procedurally generated world. While in most detective games, we follow a series of cases written by the developers; here we are faced with a universe in which the city, its inhabitants and crimes are randomly generated.

Of particular note are the NPCs, each with their own jobs, homes, routines, and even fingerprints.

All of these systems are designed to make Shadows of Doubt an immersive simulator. If a crime is committed in the city, we go to the scene and investigate to collect evidence. What we do with it from then on is up to us. Can we find a fingerprint on the spot? We can find a way to get one from the suspects until we can compare. We also have the ability to spy on emails or question nearby business owners. Generally, we can do everything we see in TV series focusing on criminal investigation.

It has not yet been revealed what new content Shadows of Doubt 1.0 will contain. But there seems to be reason to be optimistic about the release. Despite receiving criticism from fans, the Early Access version collected 91% positive votes on Steam after 9,539 reviews. This makes it one of the best detective games of recent years.

The final release of the game was scheduled for September 26, 2024.
