Two New Halloween Games in Development: Director of the Original Involved!

We already know which studio is developing the two games, and John Carpenter is involved, so it won’t be a frivolous project.

Boss Team Games, the studio behind Evil Dead: The Game, has announced that they will be making two games based on the Halloween horror movie franchise. The first movie, Halloween, was released in the USA in 1978. It was directed by John Carpenter and was followed by twelve more films. The most recent, Halloween Ends, was released on October 14, 2022 and was directed by David Gordon Green. It’s a veteran franchise considering its long history.

One of Boss Team Games’ games is still in its early stages and is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Carpenter, who considers himself a big gamer, is involved. He’s happy to help bring Michael Myers to life and the goal is to scare you thoroughly during the game. According to the announcement, both games will allow you to relive classic moments from the film and control classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films.

“Everyone at Boss Team Games is a huge fan of horror, and Halloween obviously holds a special place in the hearts of all horror fans. To be able to work with iconic characters like Michael Myers and build on John Carpenter’s original vision is literally a dream come true. Everyone at Boss Team is thrilled and honored to be working with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter to create a unique experience that fans of the film and video game will love,” said Steve Harris, CEO of Boss Team Games.

No further details are available yet, including the titles of the two games, what they’ll be like (maybe one will make its way to the Nintendo Switch successor), or even when we can expect them. This is just an early announcement, nothing more.
