We Can’t Believe How Few Players Have Reached Baldur’s Gate 3’s Rarest Ending! [VIDEO]

Larian has released some very interesting data to celebrate the one year anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3…

A lot of data is available on Twitter. For example, 1.9 million players have turned into cheese wheels, 3.5 million people have visited dinosaurs, 2 million people have rescued those weird brain creatures from the colony, and at least 377,000 Dark Urge have figured out how to save Alfira and are responsible for the rise of Lute Rock. 141660 completed Honour Mode and 1223305 failed. 76% of them were honorable and deleted the save, 24% continued the adventure in custom mode. There’s a lot of other interesting information in the additional tweets, but let’s get to the rare ending.

How many of you who led Lae’zel chose suicide at the end of the game after Vlaakith denied your ascension? Only 34! How do you even get there? That’s the point of the video embedded below. A Lae’zel player must remain loyal to Vlaakith during Gith’s personal quest, but if offered by the Emperor, must become a Mind Flayer. Vlaakith will not be happy unless Orpheus is destroyed. At the end of the game, Lae’zel “brain phones” Vlaakith, who does not respond and rejects him. Her body and soul have been rejected, and the character, reduced to an octopus, either kills herself there or moves on.

So not only do you have to follow the evil path (which requires loyalty to an immortal witch empress), but you also have to perform badly, becoming one of Githyanki’s enemies at the very end for no reason. It also shows how serious Larian is about respecting player choice. And Larian’s information showed that there is HUGE potential in the gameplay and its depth.

It’s worth scrolling through the tweets because there’s a lot more interesting information that Larian shared. For example, that Scratch has been stroked over 120 million times. We could have said something more serious, but after the rarity, let’s have something common.
