MOVIE NEWS – Daredevil: Born Again actor Charlie Cox recently teased an exciting potential team-up within the MCU during a panel at FanExpo Chicago. While Cox couldn’t explicitly say which Marvel team he’d like to join, he dropped a tantalizing hint that has fans buzzing. Cox, who first brought Matt Murdock/Daredevil to life in the 2015 Netflix series Daredevil, has since become a key player in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. His journey from Netflix to the broader MCU has been closely watched by fans, and it seems the best is yet to come.
During the panel, hosted by Joe Deckelmeier of Screen Rant, a fan asked Cox which MCU actors he would like to work with in the future. While Cox didn’t name anyone specific, he hinted at a particular group of superheroes he’s eager to join. Although some might think of The Guardians of the Galaxy or The Fantastic Four, it’s more likely that Cox is eyeing a spot on the MCU’s premier team, The Avengers. Cox teased:
“I have to be so careful. Look, I can’t! I’m not going to say, there’s so many. There’s one particular group of people that I would like to be invited to play with… But we’ll get into that a little bit later.”
The original Daredevil series is one of the most critically acclaimed Marvel adaptations, so it was no surprise that Marvel Studios was eager to bring Cox back into the fold and integrate Daredevil into the larger MCU. Previously, the character’s series on Netflix was somewhat isolated from the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe due to the division between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television. Now, with everything under Kevin Feige’s control, Cox’s Daredevil is poised to play a much larger role in the MCU.
Cox has already made several appearances in the Multiverse Saga, including Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022). He also appeared in the first episode of Echo and is set to lead his own Disney+ series with Daredevil: Born Again in 2025. Beyond that, Cox will voice the character in the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Previously, Cox has expressed his desire for Daredevil to join The Avengers, and it seems Marvel Studios might be considering making that a reality.
There are strong indications that Daredevil could have a significant role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and potentially become a key member of the new Avengers roster. While Cox may not get to team up with the original Avengers lineup, fans are eager to see him share the screen with heroes like Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), or Shang-Chi (Simu Liu). If Daredevil does join The Avengers, it would be a remarkable evolution for the character since his debut in the Netflix series.
