The Walking Dead: Two Fan Favourite Characters to Meet Again in a Spin-off Series?!

MOVIE NEWS – There are more and more signs that Daryl and Rick may run into each other again in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon series…

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon in the TWD universe, promises that the second season finale of the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be “the best one-hour Walking Dead ever.” This left fans wondering what might happen next. There is a theory that Daryl and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), his best friend, might be reunited. Although this probably won’t happen in person until the end of season 2, ientirelyuite possible that it will happen before the end of the spin-off series.

Reedus is correct that if the two get back together in the series, or if Daryl simply learns that Rick is alive and can still talk to him in Season 2, it would be one of the most explosive, emotional moments in the show’s history so far. Reedus may be referring to something else when he makes his promise for the series’ Season 2 finale.

But what is certain is that if Carol reveals Rick’s lucky fate to Daryl, it will have a huge effect on him.

Can Daryl and Rick meet again in The Walking Dead?

The big surprise at the end of season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was the appearance of Carol (Melissa McBride). Although the spin-off initially set set to revolve around both characters, McBride decided not to participate due to filming logistics. However, that changed when he appeared in the post-credits scene following the first season’s final episode. She looked for Daryl, concerned that he hadn’t checked in for a while. The second season, titled The Book of Carol, will feature her character heavily alongside Daryl. As he slowly puts the pieces together and realizes where she is, he finds his way to her to make sure she’s okay. But he may have a bigger reason than just worrying about her…

In the first season’s fifth episode, fans saw a flashback confirming how and why Daryl ended up on a ship bound for France. Just before the events, he called Carol on the radio to check in, as he apparently always did. Opting for a nomadic life, Daryl went on long quests and presumably returned to communicate occasionally. But he always kept in touch, so they knew he was okay. During the conversation, we hear Carol’s voice on the other end. It’s a little choppy, but fans can hear him saying that someone is “back.” Daryl can’t hear her clearly so he doesn’t know what she’s thinking, but shrugs it off as other events occur and the call ends.

What is the series’ timeline?

Based on the timeline of all of TWD’s series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon picks up shortly after The Walking Dead ends. Daryl’s time in France may coincide with Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) time at CRM, where she reunited with Rick. Afmucht of suffering, the pair tried to break out of CRM’s captivity and liquidate the organization. Fans who have seen The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live know that they finally got it.

Rick returned home by helicopter, reunited with Judith (Cailey Fleming) and met his son RJ (Antony Azor) for the first time. Fans may recall that Carol lived and worked in The Commonwealth, where Judith also lived at the end of The Walking Dead. So he would no doubt have seen Rick when he returned. Knowing how close Daryl was to Rick, he should also know that Daryl would be thrilled to see Rick, and most importantly, to know that he was still alive.

Why is Carol going after Daryl?

So, according to fans, Carol didn’t just leave to find Daryl and make sure he was okay, but also to let him know that Rick was okay and to urge him to come home and see his brother. Based on the Daryl Dixon Season 2 trailer and the confirmation of how the season is going, Carol will indeed find Daryl in the end. In one scene, Daryl talks to Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and informs the young lad that he and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) are considering going to America and taking him with them. If Daryl had been unsure about returning home before, Carol’s visit would have convinced him to do so.

AMC notes that the third season has already been confirmed to be set in Madrid, Spain. According to the synopsis, Daryl and Carol “continue their journey home…to the ones they love.” So it’s unlikely that season two will end with Daryl and Rick reuniting in person in the Commonwealth. But it would also be a strong ending for Daryl to discover that Rick survived. You might even hear your friend’s voice on the radio…
