Two camps are slowly forming on the Internet about the next big thing from Rockstar Games and Take-Two: some who think they can keep the official release date, and others who think it won’t be possible…

We also reported on a possible rumor that Grand Theft Auto VI, which Take-Two has already officially stated will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in the fall of 2025, about a year away, might not hit the stores then, but in the first half of 2026. There was also talk about how much later the PC port would come (as Rockstar is releasing the game on Sony and Microsoft hardware first, and will port it to PC later).

Bloomberg editor Jason Schreier took to Twitter to try and dispel any fears that there is little to fear from the alleged delay of Grand Theft Auto VI: “The internet (and my direct messages) blew up this weekend over a rumor that Grand Theft Auto VI was delayed. The good news is that six Rockstar employees have all told me that they have not heard of any delay. Bad news: this is a big, ambitious game and it could very well slip! Too much time left to say anything definitive.

Back in May, Take-Two announced that Grand Theft Auto VI would be released in the fall of 2025. It seems like a pretty ambitious game based on what’s been leaked so far, and that’s exactly why there’s a chance it could actually be delayed, because it’s not just the biggest release in gaming yet, it’s the biggest release in entertainment in general, and if Rockstar Games needs more time, they’ll just get it from Take-Two… if it’s not out in April 2026 or later.

Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in the fall of 2025.
