Dead Island 2 to Introduce Horde Mode and New Game+ Feature! [VIDEO]

Techland’s game (for which a standalone spin-off has been announced) will receive a major update in October.

Dead Island 2: Stay Human has received five major patches so far, and the Polish studio has already set a date for when we can expect the sixth. This free update will be released on October 22nd and will not only bring a horde mode and New Game+ to the game, but also a new Hell-A area inspired by Venice and its canals. The Horde mode will be called Neighborhood Watch and will be played in co-op, so you can prepare together for the coming zombie onslaught…

“Set over the course of five fictional days, Neighborhood Watch follows a group of college kids – the Bobcats – as they defend their fraternity house from an approaching zombie horde. Initially, you and your friends complete a variety of missions, setting traps and stockpiling weapons as you prepare your defenses. Then, on the fifth and final day, the zombie onslaught begins. If your defenses, skills, and teamwork are up to the task, you may just live to tell the tale,” reads the mode’s description.

And here’s what Dambuster Studios had to say about New Game+: “Players can dive back into the epic main story with their favorite characters and weapons, ramping up the action with an additional skill slot and an increased level cap. But that’s not all – the game mode adds new skins and brutal weapons, as well as increased difficulty and all-new enemies. So with more power comes more risk…

The October 22nd release date is no coincidence. It is the date on which Dead Island 2 will be re-released. Dead Island 2: Ultimate Edition will also be released on the same day. It will include the base game, both story expansions, five weapon packs, and all of the Slayer’s premium skin packs. So if you missed out on the long development and open-world zombie parkour, it’s worth catching up.
