Is Space Marine 2 Selling Well? Tim Willits Tells Us How the Game is Doing!

According to the lead designer of Space Marine 2, Tim Willits and the former CEO of id Software, the Warhammer success is “the fastest selling game we’ve ever worked on, including all the Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein, and Rage games”…

Space Marine 2’s brutal xeno-massacaring carnage launched with massive hype, so it’s no surprise that it’s potentially the fastest-selling game former id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead has worked on. According to him, and according to Saber Interactive head Tim Willits, the game beats the big guns like Doom and Wolfenstein the way Titus shreds the Tyranids with his chainsword.

Players worldwide are joining the ranks of the Adeptus Astartes in droves to stop the vile Xeno invasion!

All this is happening faster than the Saber Interactive team could have imagined. Willits, Saber’s CCO, mentioned on Twitter that he and Hollenshead believe Space Marine 2 is the “fastest-selling game” they’ve ever worked on. That’s a huge statement, considering that SM2 is clearly beating a catalogue of games, including Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Rage.

In fact, the wider world and history of the Warhammer universe can seem alarmingly massive at first glance. However, that obviously hasn’t stopped new players from jumping into the boots of the Astartes and joining the cause. Even before it left its paid early access period last week, the game broke publisher Focus Entertainment’s record for most concurrent Steam players at 134,000.

Space Marine 2 has been a massive hit for both Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, and with a year-long schedule that includes new missions, weapons, enemy types, and more, it shows no signs of slowing down.
