PlayStation’s Next State of Play Broadcast Coming Next Week

Sony is reportedly gearing up for a PlayStation showcase scheduled for late September. According to recent claims, a new State of Play presentation is set to stream next week.

On September 12, Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb mentioned that he anticipated Sony to host a State of Play event in “about 12 days.” He reiterated this in another podcast on Wednesday.

“Sony’s next State of Play is almost certainly happening on the 24th,” Grubb stated today.

If the event does take place next week, it could be used to announce the long-rumored Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which was recently rated by the ESRB.

Grubb also mentioned that he’s heard about another PlayStation remaster currently in development, which he described as “even less exciting” than Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and this might also be revealed at next week’s showcase.

Upcoming PlayStation titles include Lego Horizons, which is reportedly targeting a mid-November release, and Bungie’s Marathon, which is said to be aiming for a 2025 launch.

The previous State of Play was held in May and featured titles such as Astro Bot, Concord, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Monster Hunter Wilds, and the PC version of God of War Ragnarök.

Last week, Sony unveiled the long-awaited PS5 Pro during a technical showcase. The new console will launch in November with a price tag of $700 / £700 / €800.

September’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue and Classics titles were released on Tuesday, including games such as The Plucky Squire, Night in the Woods, Under the Water, Secret Agent Clank, and Mister Mosquito.
