NetEase Games has confirmed another character whose design is based on that seen in Demon Days: X-Men comic book series.
Psylocke uses a variety of psionic abilities to outsmart and outwit her enemies. Her agile speed and quick movements allow Psylocke to dash over short distances, while also allowing her to cloak herself and appear invisible before attacking. Her ultimate ability brings all of these elements together as Psylocke rushes across the battlefield with her wings in full display, cutting down all enemies in her path.
The version of Psylocke is inspired by the character design from the best-selling comic book Demon Days: X-Men by award-winning comic book artist Peach Momoko, who won the Ringo Award in 2021 and the Eisner Award in both 2021 and 2024. Psylocke’s character design was co-created by Marvel Rivals artists and Momoko. Psylocke will also be voiced by Japanese voice actress Alpha Takahashi, who has voiced characters in other popular franchises such as Cyberpunk 2077.
As a wandering ronin in feudal Japan, the telekinetic warrior known as Sai has dedicated herself to slaying ancient demons and monsters. With her wolf Logan at her side, Psylocke won’t rest until all Yokai have fallen to her psychic blade. Sai was ripped from her reality by the Timestream Entanglement and put on display by the Collector. Along with newfound allies, she escaped her cage and learned that other familiar warriors may still be out there. Her new quest is to gather these heroes, end this conflict, and return home.
Marvel Rivals will be released on December 6th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). Hopefully it won’t suffer the same fate as Concord. It will also be a hero shooter, which means that different characters will have different abilities. But there will be one big difference from Concord: while that was a paid game, this will be a free-to-play title. So it will be different from what seems to be one of Sony’s biggest failures.
