The game from the South Korean studio is getting another content expansion, and this time, it’s teaming up with another equally popular title.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Shift Up have announced two more content updates for the currently PlayStation 5 exclusive Stellar Blade. One is a photo mode that lets you choose your favorite poses, expressions, and filters to capture the perfect shot. Photo mode is now standard in many games, but if it’s not, it’s one of the first updates you’ll find, although the same can’t be said for Stellar Blade, which first appeared on PlayStation 5 in the spring.
Sony Interactive Entertainment hasn’t given any details about the collaboration with NieR: Automata, and it would probably be a waste of time to bother Square Enix (who published NieR: Automata) or PlatinumGames (who were the developers; we wrote about them a few days ago when Nintendo transferred the intellectual property rights of The Wonderful 101 to them), so we’ll probably have to wait a little longer to hear more about the collaboration between the two games.
Shift Up has even announced that the original Stellar Blade soundtrack, which includes over 180 songs, is now available on several music streaming services, so if you want to listen to the background music outside of the game, you can (probably due to licensing agreements, the soundtrack hasn’t appeared in this format before).
Stellar Blade, which runs on Unreal Engine 4, was released for PlayStation 5 on April 26, so it’s been almost five months since the South Korean studio’s game appeared on Sony’s current generation console. By June, it had already sold over 1 million copies, and that figure is sure to rise as it will be released on PC, but we don’t know when the port will arrive.
