Saber Interactive Developing New Avatar AAA Action RPG!

The franchise known as Avatar: The Last Airbender will expand with a new game, and it will be a AAA action-RPG for unnamed consoles and PC.

According to Saber Interactive, the PC and console action-RPG title will follow a brand new story, developed in close collaboration with Avatar Studios, that drops players into the world of the franchise where they can take on the role of an all-new, never-before-seen Avatar. Set thousands of years in the past, players can expect to immerse themselves in a vibrant world, master all four elements, engage in dynamic combat with companions, and experience the challenges and choices that come with being the keeper of balance in the world. The game will include both familiar and new elements from the franchise, giving fans the opportunity to connect deeply with the world and become the hero of this unexplored era.

“We know that loyal fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender have been eager for more stories to immerse them in the show’s universe, and through gaming we’re able to expand the world-building and allow fans to experience the new content in a completely immersive way. Saber Interactive has a proven track record of bringing [intellectual property] based games to life, and we are excited to co-finance this AAA title with them and let fans experience this world firsthand,” Paramount senior vice president of games and emerging media Doug Rosen said in a press release.

“At Saber, we are all true fans of the [intellectual property] we work with. Our team members are some of the most dedicated and passionate creators out there, and it’s an honor to join forces with Avatar Studios and Paramount Games to further expand the Avatar Legends universe into video games. This unique co-funding structure is the result of our ever-expanding relationship with Paramount, which began over a decade ago with [World War Z], and we’re excited about what’s on the horizon,” added Josh Austin, head of intellectual property development and licensing at Saber Interactive.

If it’s better than The Legend of Korra, we won’t be disappointed.
