Star Wars Outlaws: Aiming for a Comeback with a Major New Patch!

The second patch is even bigger than the first, as Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment try to improve the admittedly poor sales.

Ubisoft spent a lot of time and money on Star Wars Outlaws, which was released with a lot of bugs, and we’ve already reported that it’s only managed to sell 1 million copies so far. Now the second update has arrived, and it’s a relatively large one (PlayStation 5: 3.8 GB, Xbox Series: 4.71 GB, PC: 5.6 GB). The list of patch notes could go on for days, but perhaps most importantly, the speeder camera handling has been improved and made more manageable, making our adventures more challenging.

Stealth has also been tweaked, and we’ve written before that Massive Entertainment is indeed looking to change this in response to player feedback. AI perception, the number and location of NPCs, patrol routes, camera detection, and environmental options have all been modified to make stealthing less of a challenge. Stability and performance have been improved on all platforms. Players using Intel Arc video cards on a PC will experience fewer frame rate drops. RTXDI usage has also been tweaked so that VRAM usage is different.

Star Wars Outlaws has not been well received by users, with Massice Entertainment’s game receiving only a 5.4 on a scale of 1-10 on Metacritic. They failed to create a world that is exciting and interesting, even though it is the Star Wars universe, and criticism of the protagonist was frequent. Kay has also received some improvements: her movement animations have been improved and the AI reactions to environmental actions have been scaled from investigation to combat. Ubisoft also listed the issues that have been fixed, such as Kay not taking damage from enemy projectiles, or controller presets not being saved when players play on different consoles on the same platform.

Will this be enough to attract attention?
