Destiny: Rising Has Been Unveiled – You Can Sign Up for the Alpha Test Now! [VIDEO]

After years of exploring new horizons for the IP, the announcement of Destiny: Rising shows that Bungie’s partnership with Chinese developer NetEase is finally starting to make sense…

Yesterday, Bungie and NetEase announced Destiny: Rising, the Chinese studio’s mobile adaptation of the popular space MMO. The title takes place in an alternative time plane and will allow us to enjoy the action in first and third person (the original, remember, switches from one perspective to another depending on the environment and the abilities we use) – reads the official website.

Details are relatively tight for now, but the announcement, which has been predicted on Twitter for the past few weeks, is accompanied by a trailer (see end of article) that mixes pre-rendered scenes with gameplay footage from an early developer build.

If you want to try Destiny: Rising, head over to the official portal and fill out the registration form to get your chance to be invited to the closed alpha next month!

They ask for your email address, nationality, age group and phone model, as well as what you usually play.

Could Destiny: Rising set the stage for the future of the franchise?

Based on the first trailer and details shared on social media, the game offers a campaign, PvP and PvE activities for up to six players, and a wealth of new abilities and weapon archetypes that we haven’t seen in D2 before. So far, there is no indication of a possible PC conversion in addition to iOS and Android.

For its part, Bungie plans to continue supporting Destiny 2 beyond the recently concluded first major storyline. Next year, the new saga will start with two expansions: they are codenamed Apollo and Behemoth. After the latest wave of layoffs that hit the company, Jason Schreier said that the Americans were working on a spin-off, but it was cancelled along with other projects under incubation. For the time being, they are also not thinking about a real, numbered sequel.
