Three Games Reach Million-Sales Milestone!

With three different games announcing round sales figures on the same day, we thought it would be useful to summarize them.

Konami and Bloober Team have announced that digital and disc sales of Silent Hill 2 Remake, released on October 8 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam), have passed the 1 million mark as of October 11, so the modernized version of James Sunderland’s adventure is off to a good start, although we’ll be interested to see how Team Silent’s remake of the survival horror remake fares in the long run. In any case, the start is positive. Let’s come back at the beginning of 2025.

Speaking of survival horror, let’s move on to another title in the genre. Capcom announced on Twitter that the Resident Evil 4 Remake (which also received the Separate Ways DLC last fall) is now at 8 million sales, with the game released on March 24, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, and on December 20, 2023 for Mac, iPhone 15 Pro and iPad. So it took just over a year and a half (19 months to be exact) for Leon S. Kennedy’s Western European tour converted to the RE Engine to achieve this result.

And finally, let’s talk about It Takes Two, the highly successful co-op-only platform adventure game from Josef Fares’ studio Hazelight. Released on March 26, 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Origin – now EA App), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on November 4, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, It Takes Two has now sold over 20 million copies. The last time we heard a sales figure was in March, when Fares’ hit game hit 16 million, so in seven months the team has managed to add another 4 million to that total. For the age of the game, this is a very good result.

Congratulations to all three games, although the results of Bloober Team are not very good yet, but compared to Resident Evil 4 Remake they are not so problematic (it reached 8 million in one and a half years).

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
