Diablo 4’s Spiritborn Class Is So Overpowered It Could Break the Game

Since the Vessel of Hatred expansion introduced the Spiritborn class to Diablo IV, players have been creating powerful builds. One player, however, has crafted a build so broken that it deals an incredible 235 trillion points of damage. But this achievement is largely due to multiple bugs that are massively amplifying attack power.

Content creator Mekuna stunned the Diablo IV community by showcasing a Spiritborn build from a Chinese player that, as seen in his YouTube video, deals an enormous amount of damage. This is due to a bug in the Viscous Shield legendary node, which gives players 1% extra damage for every 3% of their maximum health that’s shielded (theoretically, the maximum is 33% if the shield covers 100% of their health). However, the bug causes the Viscous Shield to calculate the bonus based on the player’s base health instead of the shield, giving a 1% bonus for every 12 health points. As a result, the more health the player stacks in their build, the more damage they can deal—someone with 6,000 health points, for instance, can get a 500% attack power bonus.

But that’s not all. The Diablo IV community has also identified another bug with the jaguar companion. Instead of granting a damage bonus every 15 hits, the system counts this bonus twice, making the attacks far more potent than intended. Combine that with Spiritborn’s Resolve and a few other traits, and you have a build that deals ridiculous amounts of damage. While players are already adapting their Spiritborn builds to take advantage of these bugs, many fear Blizzard will patch the issues and nerf the class. For now, the developers have remained silent about their plans for Spiritborn.

Spiritborn Build Crashes Diablo 4 Servers

This isn’t the first time players have exploited bugs with the Spiritborn class. Just a few days ago, the Spiritborn Evade build allowed players to dodge and attack at superhuman speeds. However, Blizzard has since shut down that build, as the rapid on-screen movement was causing server lag and technical problems for other players.
