Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Requires High-End PC for 4K Texture Pack!

Saber Interactive’s game has received the free 4K texture pack, but it requires a very hefty configuration!

All you have to do to get it is download it from Steam or the Epic Games Store and restart the game. Before we get to the system requirements, the texture pack is LARGER than the game. The system requirements are also quite a bit higher, so be warned that the recommended system requirements are not even close to the minimum…

Minimum system requirements for 4K texture pack – 4K/3840×2160 resolution, 30 FPS frame rate, ultra graphics preset:

  • 64-bit operating system and processor required
  • Operating system: Windows 10 (v1903)/Windows 11 (no version number mentioned) x64
  • Processor: 12 core; Intel Core i7-12700/AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080/AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  • VRAM: 16 GB
  • DirectX: DX12
  • Free storage: 160 GB

4K texture pack recommended system requirements:

  • 64-bit operating system and processor required
  • Operating system: Windows 10 (v1903)/Windows 11 (no version number mentioned) x64
  • Processor: 12 core; Intel Core i9-14900K/AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super/AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
  • VRAM: 16 GB
  • DirectX: DX12
  • Free storage: 160 GB

And we’re not kidding: early Steam reviews say that you really need a powerful configuration for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which looks quite nice with 4K textures. Those who have a powerful configuration will be happy to report it, those who don’t will struggle. One thing users have pointed out is that the 12 GB of VRAM is NOT enough: 16, or rather 24 GB are needed! So try to use a high-end graphics card, otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy this third-person shooter.

On Friday, the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, tweeted that they’re responding to reviews of the latest patch with another update that will be released next week for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. With this update, Saber Interactive will also address balancing.
