Dawnwalker: Dark Fantasy Action-RPG from Former CDPR Team Secures Publisher!

It was unknown who would publish the Rebel Wolves’ game, but the Polish developers now have a publisher for their project.

The Rebel Wolves come from CD Projekt RED, so they have plenty of experience when it comes to action RPGs (suffice it to say, they’re Vajas), and since Dawnwalker will be a dark fantasy action RPG, it won’t be too different in tone from what we’ve seen in the first three parts of The Witcher. As for Dawnwalker, publisher Bandai Namco has already announced that they will be releasing the game not only digitally, but also on disk! It’s still up in the air when it will be released, so we can only speculate on the target platforms.

“Rebel Wolves is a new studio built on solid foundations: a combination of experience and fresh energy. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, a company known for its dedication to the role-playing genre and willingness to embrace new [intellectual properties], is a perfect fit for our wolf pack. Not only do they share our values, but their track record in publishing narrative-driven RPGs speaks for itself. We look forward to working with them to bring the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to gamers worldwide,” said Rebel Wolves publishing director Tomasz Tinc in a press release.

“This is another important milestone in our content development strategy for the Western market. By combining our strengths, we will bring this first game from the studio to a worldwide audience. We’re excited about the universe Rebel Wolves is creating thanks to their extremely talented team of developers, which will result in a great addition to our portfolio,” added Alberto Gonzalez, Vice President of Business Development for Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.

Dawnwalker will also feature a narrative and sandbox elements. It is a AAA action RPG set in medieval Europe. More details about the game, which will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, will be revealed “in the coming months,” which means there’s a good chance it will show up at The Game Awards in December.
