Can Assassin’s Creed Shadows Be Cheaper?! Ubisoft Has Changed Its Offerings

The price of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is being reduced significantly, but the change only affects the Collector’s Edition…

Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ road to final release is proving to be a bit bumpy. At the end of September, Ubisoft caused a tsunami of news by announcing that the Japanese adventure would be postponed until February 14, 2025. According to statements shared at the time, the change was made to refine the experience to perfection. At the same time as the news, it was also said that the Season Pass for the title and subsequent projects would also be dropped. And this means a reduction in the final price of the Collector’s Edition.

According to a message published on the official Assassin’s Creed Discord server, Ubisoft has decided to reduce the Collector’s Edition’s original price of $279.99 by $50.

The Collector’s Edition can now be officially purchased for $229.99 for both consoles and PC. (It is unknown how the announcement will affect 3d party stores and resellers, but we do not have high hopes.) The French developer’s announcement also reminds players that the 3-day early access is no longer available, so the special edition will also be released on February 14.

So, what will be the final contents of the Collector’s Edition? After getting rid of the Season Pass, this edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows looks like this:

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Collector’s Edition includes:

  • The base game
  • Bonus mission: Thrown to the Dogs
  • Ultimate Pack with Sekiryu Character Pack
  • Hideout package, as well as five skill points and the Red Dragon filter for photo mode
  • Naoe and Yasuka character statue (about 40cm tall)
  • Custom SteelBook case
  • Collector’s art album (84 pages)
  • Naoe’s Katana Grip Guard (Cuba; life size)
  • World map
  • Wall roll (70×30 cm)
  • Two Sumi-e lithographs (13.5×19 cm)

If you pre-order the game, you get the first expansion for free

In addition to delaying the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, cancelling the Season Pass, and reducing the price of the Collector’s Edition, Ubisoft has decided to give away the first expansion to all players who pre-order the title. Moreover, we know that the makers intend to release two story DLCs; so far, no details, prices, or release dates have been announced for these extras.
