As the PlayStation 5 nears its four-year mark, Sony shows no signs of slowing down in perfecting its next-gen console. Over time, PlayStation has continuously refined the user experience with firmware updates that focus on system performance and usability. The latest patch, version 24.07-10.20.00, continues that trend by adding new features and boosting overall performance.
According to the official patch notes, this firmware update introduces a small but significant change to Activity Cards, a feature that allows players to track progress on trophies, challenges, and more. Sony has now implemented a clearer way to monitor the status of each task: “Activities are now displayed as In Progress, Not Started, or Completed, depending on their current status. Potential spoilers will continue to be hidden.”
Alongside these new Activity Card enhancements, version 24.07-10.20.00 includes the usual stability and performance improvements that PlayStation users have come to expect. Sony has also worked on fine-tuning certain on-screen messages and improving overall usability, further optimizing the gaming experience for PS5 owners.
PlayStation’s New Sci-Fi Game in Development
In other news, a recent restructuring within Bungie has resulted in the transfer of 155 employees to Sony Interactive Entertainment, a move aimed at strengthening both companies’ creative and technical teams. This collaboration has led to the revelation of a new multiplayer sci-fi title in development, expanding PlayStation’s catalog of live-service games with the expertise of the Destiny 2 developers.
