Guerrilla Games and Nixxes Software have revealed details of the configuration required for the modernized version of the first Horizon.
Let’s take a look at the lists:
Minimum system requirements – 720p resolution, 30 FPS frame rate, very low graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1909)
- Processor: Intel Core i3-8100/AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB VRAM)/AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (4 GB VRAM)
- Free storage: 135 GB
Recommended system requirements – 1080p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, medium graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1909)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8600/AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060/AMD Radeon RX 5700
- Free storage: 135 GB
High system requirements – 1440p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate (or 4K/30 FPS), high graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1909)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-9700/AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070/AMD Radeon RX 6800
- Free storage: 135 GB
Very high system requirements – 4K (2160p) resolution, 60 FPS frame rate (or 4K/30 FPS), very high graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1909)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-1100/AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080/AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
- Free storage: 135 GB
This is about the same system requirements as Horizon Forbidden West, so if you were able to run the second part properly, you should have no problem with the first game’s remaster. No new high-end hardware has been announced anywhere (though there is a more powerful Nvidia video card than the RTX 4080), so no need to upgrade a machine for this. And nowhere is it mentioned that you need an SSD.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on October 31st for PlayStation 5 and PC. Those who own the original game can upgrade to the remastered version for $10.
