Cronos: New Dawn: Is Bloober Team’s Latest Game Being Leaked?

It hasn’t been that long since the Polish studio unveiled their next project, but already rumors are flying around that make you wonder…

The Bloober team received good reviews with Silent Hill 2 Remake, and maybe the sales are just as positive (it’s only official at the moment that it’s over 1 million), but they have another survival horror title in the works. The public almost immediately started comparing Cronos: New Dawn to Silent Hill 2 Remake and other iconic titles in the genre, but two words came up the most: Dead Space.

On Twitter, ignusthewise wrote that Cronos: The New Dawn will be quite a challenge in the Hacos, with time travel gameplay to go along with the exploration. According to the official description, you’ll have to travel back in time to extract essence from key survivors in order to save the human race by returning to the future. The gameplay loop is rumored to consist of seeing anomalies in the future that allow you to return to the past, and you can do this in seventeen locations.

Perhaps the comparison to Dead Space is no coincidence, as the otherworldly environment and grotesque enemies are reminiscent of the legacy of Visceral Games (the remake was developed by EA Motive). There will also be futuristic gadgets and, of course, brutality. Especially the latter justifies the comparison with Electronic Arts’ IP (especially since there’s little chance of a Dead Space sequel, with Iron Man being made by EA Motive instead, and the studio helping DICE with Criterion and Ripple Effect on the new, yet-to-be-named Battlefield).

The rumor is unofficial of course, but what is official is that Bloober Team is planning to release Cronos: The New Dawn for the usual current generation trio (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC) sometime in 2025.
