New Name on the James Bond Shortlist – Could He Be the Favourite?!

MOVIE NEWS – A new James Bond favourite has emerged, a real gentleman at that…

The new favourite to be the next James Bond has been revealed… and he’s quite the gentleman. According to British gambling operator William Hill, Kick-Ass and Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still the favourite to take over the iconic role from Daniel Craig after No Time to Die. However, another actor, Theo James, star of The Gentlemen and The White Lotus, is slowly creeping up behind him.

Taylor-Johnson, who has been a betting favourite for the role for some time and, according to various news and rumours, has already discussed taking over the role of 007, currently has odds of 11/10 to win the role of James Bond. James, who is also known for The Divergent series and the soon-to-be-released Stephen King horror film The Monkey, has now jumped from odds of 12/1 to a much more likely 5/2.

William Hill spokesman Lee Phelps explained how and why Theo James has jumped up the list of James Bond favourites (via GB News ). He believes it’s probably due to his starring role in the aforementioned Netflix crime series, in which he plays aristocrat Edward “Eddie” Horniman, who, after inheriting the family estate, discovers that it hides a vast weed empire.

The search for the next James Bond is heating up, and many are rooting for British actor Theo James.

He has narrowed from 12/1 to 5/2, making him the second most likely. He is only ahead of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose odds of 2/5 to take on the role of 007 have now dropped to 11/10 in the market.

“James may well have caught the eye of executives with his performance in The Gentleman.”

Who are your other James Bond favourites?

Along with Theo James and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Gladiator 2 star Oscar nominee Paul Mescal; Lords of the Air and Legendary Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secret star Callum Turner; and Happy Valley actor James Norton are the other top contenders to don the tuxedo and take on the role of James Bond.

Of course, several A-list names remain floating around for the role, including Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy. However, new research claims that the finisher is now a big fan favourite. According to new data from Betway Casino, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is also in the running again…
