Maxime Foulquier fears Sony’s wrath, so he decided to make a game called “Bloodborne Top Down Arena” instead…
We all want Sony to bring back the Bloodborne IP in some way. Some are demanding a Bloodborne 2, others want a PC release; still others are happy for a next-gen version for PS5. Either way, it seems that PlayStation has no plans for FromSoftware’s acclaimed title. And the community, tired of waiting, has decided to start their own projects in the world of Yharnam. One of these is a Diablo-style action-RPG remake.
In February, user Maxime Foulquier surprised everyone by announcing an unofficial remake of Bloodborne. However, as he points out in a post on X, the plans have now completely changed: “I haven’t touched Bloodborne Remake for a year for 50 reasons (too big, too risky to finally be C&D). But last week I decided to start a new project from scratch, Bloodborne Top Down Arena. Maybe you won’t like it, but I’m enjoying developing it and playing it.”
In short, Foulquier took his work on the Bloodborne Remake and turned it into an isometric action RPG!
In this, the Hunter, as seen in the gameplay shared in the post, destroys enemies that gradually appear. Several users have drawn attention to the fact that PlayStation may file another cease and desist request due to the name Bloodborne Top Down Arena. However, the title’s creator is sure that Sony is turning a blind eye to his project: “It is less ambitious and different from a true remake! The Demake and the Minecraft Project didn’t receive CnD so I cross the fingers”.
Bloodborne Kart went through a similar problem
This would not be the first time that PlayStation has kept a project related to the IP alive. A few months ago, the Sony team had a say in the release of a title called Bloodborne Kart, which featured Hunter and the other It took the character Yharnam on a car-driving experience. After changing its name to Nightmare Kart to avoid problems with the Japanese company, the game was released for free to everyone and quickly reached 130,000 downloads.
