Avowed’s Big Reveal: A Surprising Platform Joins the Lineup!

The game poised to become the standout fantasy RPG of 2025 has just dropped an unexpected twist: Avowed will also launch on Battle.net. This marks the first non-Activision Blizzard game to appear on the platform following Microsoft’s acquisition.

Avowed, slated for release on February 18, 2025, by Microsoft and Obsidian, has already captured the attention of gamers worldwide. From action-packed gameplay to details about its decision-making system, everything about the game has heightened community expectations. Now, in a move few saw coming, it has been confirmed that Avowed will also be available on Battle.net, Activision Blizzard’s PC platform.

The announcement was made on Blizzard’s official website, and it didn’t take long for the gaming community to take notice. Of course, players will still have the option to enjoy Avowed through Steam or the Xbox app for PC, as previously confirmed months ago. The Battle.net release is simply an additional option for those who prefer to explore the world of Eora through Activision Blizzard’s ecosystem. Nevertheless, this news has caught many players by surprise.

Avowed’s inclusion on Battle.net is undoubtedly tied to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It’s the first game outside the Call of Duty and World of Warcraft franchises to debut on the PC platform. It remains to be seen if Redmond will apply this approach to other titles in the future, but we’ll have to wait for more updates on that front.

Avowed Will Be Available in Three Editions

The announcement of Avowed on Battle.net isn’t the only exciting RPG-related news of late. Obsidian has also revealed that the game will be available in three distinct editions: Standard Digital, Standard Premium Digital, and Premium Steelbook. Each edition comes with its own price and bonus content. For a detailed breakdown, check out our article covering all the Avowed editions.
