Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: Pre-Order Now in a Workstation!

TECH NEWS – We’re also hearing how much bigger Nvidia’s next flagship GPU will be compared to the current most powerful graphics card, the RTX 4090.

A workstation PC integrator, Comino, has started selling machines that will include Nvidia’s yet-to-be-announced GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. Interest in cards based on the Blackwell architecture is high (and the market is already excited about it), and this is supported by the fact that Comino sells liquid-cooled workstations. The Grando server will be one of them, and it will have not one, but EIGHT (!) RTX 5090s!

To pre-order, you’ll need to fill out a form, and here you’ll need to provide important details. Although Comino didn’t give any exact specifications beyond the fact that there will be eight RTX 5090s, it sounds exciting. The graphics card will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2025, so it seems a bit risky to take orders now. This could be Nvidia’s official partner Comino’s way of gauging how much demand there will be for its servers.

The RTX 5090 is rumored to have 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 512-bit memory bus, 28Gbps memory bandwidth and up to 600W power consumption. Therefore, this monster might come with a 12V-2×6 power connector.

According to MegasizeGPU, the Nvidia GB202 GPU chip measures approximately 24×31 mm, with a total of 744 mm2. The GPU will have a package size of 63×65 mm, which is about 3528 mm2. The RTX 4090 AD102 GPU had a die size of 609 mm2 and a package size of 2601 mm2 (51×51 mm). This represents a 22% increase in die size and a 35% increase in package area. This is smaller than the 754 square millimeter (mm2) chip size of the first generation RTX card (RTX 2000), the TU102 chip with Turing architecture.

It’s not official yet, but we can already see that Nvidia could once again make a huge profit with the new cards. We’ll have to wait and see how much higher the price will be for the higher performance…
