Naughty Dog: A Beloved Actor Returns in the Studio’s Upcoming Game!

This game, which we don’t know exactly what it will be, will be spearheaded by Neil Druckmann and will feature a voice actor we’ve heard in many other titles from the studio’s past.

He’s had his hand in more than one franchise and game in the gaming industry, and it’s now official that he’ll be in Naughty Dog’s next game. Who is he? Troy Baker, best known as the voice of Joel Miller in The Last of Us, who also voiced Samuel Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The new Naughty Dog project will be spearheaded by Neil Druckmann, and while details are scarce, GQ has confirmed that Troy Baker will have some involvement. It may be a small role, but it’s possible that he’ll be voicing a major character.

Naughty Dog hasn’t had the best of times lately. Last December, they canceled The Last of Us multiplayer project, which meant that The Last of Us 2 didn’t have a Factions mode (and that’s why we called the game The Last of Us: Factions), and so the project that used a live service model was scrapped, even though the first season of the game’s series adaptation was a success. The studio would have had to devote all of its resources to post-launch support, which would have had a negative impact on the development of single-player titles.

At the time of the project’s cancellation, Naughty Dog confirmed that an ambitious single-player project was in development, but the Sony studio has not said anything since. Druckmann said back in June that he didn’t want the team to be known just for The Last of Us. What’s certain is that Troy Baker will be on screen before the studio’s new game, as he portrayed Indy in Indiana Jones and the Last Juror.

We’ll see what “the naughty dogs” come up with…
