MOVIE NEWS – Despite Concord’s failure, the creator of Prime Video’s Secret Level series defends the broadcast of the episode dedicated to the shooter…
On December 10, an animated series created by video game lovers for video game lovers will premiere on Prime Video. Secret Level was born from the creators’ strong desire to offer audiences diverse stories set in the universes of the world’s most beloved titles. However, Concord does not really fit into this category after it was pulled from stores. However, Tim Miller, the creator of the project, clearly stated that the episode should be aired.
The Concord episode is “a beautiful piece of animation”
The Deadpool co-director told GamesRadar+ that his anthology has other episodes dedicated to video games that aren’t available on the market. He maintains that he’s proud of the short film they made for Concord:
“I can’t see any reason why we wouldn’t put it out there for the fans.”
“I know people like to point out and go, ‘What are they doing?’ Or, ‘Why would they do this?’ And honestly, it’s simply because we’re proud of the episode and it looks cool. The fact that the game is no longer around is unfortunate because we liked the developers, they were nice people, and they were trying to do the best they could. But it doesn’t affect our desire to put this thing out in the world that we worked very hard on and so did they, and a lot of artists,” Tim Miller outlined the situation.
“The end result is we have an interesting story with a beautiful piece of animation that people worked very hard to produce. […] It never came up with us, I mean, Amazon never suggested it, and we didn’t either because why?” – concludes the American filmmaker.
Dave Wilson, the series’ producer, recalls that the Concord episode was decided on years ago, as part of the anthology’s philosophy of combining classic video games, current hits and future productions. So it’s safe to say that Secret Level gives the hero-shooter one last chance to shine…
