iPhone 17: Is Apple Stuck in a Marketing Rut?

TECH NEWS – Given the way Apple has been promoting the iPhone so far, if the company does indeed change anything next year, it could backfire on them…

So far, we’ve heard rumors that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models could use aluminum and glass on the back of the device. But now we have another rumor from another leaker. According to him, the two more powerful models of the iPhone 17 will still use titanium, but will also have a small glass section on the back of the phone. Whatever it will be, from what we’ve heard so far, the back of the new iPhone models will be very unusual…

The Information’s editor Wayne Ma reported in November that Apple will drop titanium on the two more powerful iPhones in 2025, switching back to aluminum. However, a leaker, Insant Digital, wrote on Weibo that the Cupertino-based company is still sticking with titanium for the frame, calling the change impossible.

“Why would anyone think it would switch to aluminum? Think about it – it’s just not possible. Looking back at recent iPhone models, Apple has always emphasized the premium frame materials of the Pro series as one of its key selling points, from ‘surgical-grade stainless steel’ to ‘titanium.’ If they switched to aluminum, how could they even market it?”, Ib

Apple switched to stainless steel for the 2017 iPhone X, and the company stayed with that material for five years before switching to titanium. If the company were to somehow switch back to aluminum after all this, it would be a marketing dead end for the company, as it wouldn’t be able to sell the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max after all the advertising it’s done so far, and would have to promote the devices with something else. The iPhone 17 Air is supposed to replace the Plus models next year, but it’s a lower-end device (the second of four).

All this is not official, so who knows what material Apple will use for its phones.
