Legends of Awen: Rise of the Fianna is a single-player, story-driven CRPG developed on Unreal Engine 5. Enter an original medieval fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology, where bards use poetry and song to invoke curses and blessings, druids weave powerful enchantments tied to the magic of the Shee, ritual warpainting grants supernatural abilities, and legendary weapons channel the spirits of ancient heroes. Take on the role of Finn, an orphan gifted with otherworldly powers. Gather your party of legendary Fianna, champions of the High Queen, and rise to become their leader! Embark on an epic adventure to protect the Kingdom of Tara from scheming lords and supernatural forces. Fianna are trained in the ways of the bard, the druid, and the warrior. If your companions are more inclined to follow one of these paths, you can fully customize the Fianna by mixing and matching them, giving you access to a wide range of skills and abilities. When conflicts arise and combat seems inevitable, the game shifts from real-time exploration to a turn-based encounter mode played on a tactical grid. Depending on your play style, you can let your weapons and spells speak for you and take advantage by strategically using the environment, or you can de-escalate violence by combining specific character traits, non-lethal skills, and dialogue options conditioned by your past actions.

Forge strong bonds of friendship and romance with unique companions, each with their own secrets, goals, and moral compass. Your relationships with them will weigh heavily on the many decisions you make along your journey, as they may not always agree with you and may even leave your party. Inspired by tabletop role-playing games, the developers want to emphasize the “role” in role-playing and give you meaningful and impactful choices. Starting with character creation, all of your actions and decisions will build your reputation and have far-reaching consequences. NPCs will notice and remember. Legends of Awen: Rise of the Fianna does not have a release date yet. It’s being developed for PC and will launch a crowdfunding campaign sometime in the first three months of 2025 to expand the original scope of choices and consequences.
