Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster Delayed: The Little Crocodile Won’t Return This Year

Argonaut Games has also joined the queue: we may hear a few more times this year that a game previously scheduled for 2024 will be released in 2025.

The resurrected Argonaut has announced on Twitter that the remaster of the platformer released in the fall of 1997 will not arrive in December, but later, but it’s interesting that the developers have not given a release month, so it’s not so concrete how much longer we have to wait for the new version of the game originally released for PS1, SEGA Saturn and PC…

“Dear Croc fans, we have an important update regarding the release of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster. After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the release to Q1 2025. This decision was not made lightly, but we feel that a little more time is needed to put the finishing touches on the game to ensure that it meets the high standards that we strive for and that you deserve.

We understand that after 27 years of waiting, this news may come as a bit of a disappointment, especially with the holiday season fast approaching. However, our goal has always been to deliver a game with the quality and polish that will truly delight you. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to bring Croc back in the best possible way. Thank you all for your understanding and continued enthusiasm. We can’t wait for you to experience the magic of Croc once again!” Argonaut wrote.

So, sometime between January and March, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster will be released digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (as a GOG exclusive; we reported on that earlier!), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. There will be a physical release, but it will only be for two platforms, as Rock It Games will only release it for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

It’s not a bad thing if the crocodile misses this year, but it’s not going to show up in the big pile of games in February, is it?
