Tactical Adventures has announced Solasta II, the sequel to Solasta: Crown of the Magister, which will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam in 2025. A demo is expected in early 2025, giving fans their first taste of this ambitious new tactical RPG.
“Our 35-person team combines deep expertise with a passion for crafting immersive and challenging gaming experiences,” said Mathieu Girard, creative director at Tactical Adventures. “With our first game, we started as a Kickstarter success story, building on the SRD 5.1 ruleset to create a tactical RPG that has resonated with over 1.5 million players. Now, with Solasta II, we’re taking all that even further—pushing the system with fresh takes on tactical depth, fun, and accessibility. Players will explore Neokos, a new continent brimming with magic, colossal landscapes and unprecedented lore, while facing the growing force of Shadwyn, a charismatic villain driven by a relentless desire to reclaim her lost power.”
Girard continued, “This project is powered by ambition, respect for our players, and a shared belief in the strength of what we’re building together. We can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it and tell us what they think!”
According to the Steam page, Solasta II is a bold continuation of the tactical RPG formula established by its predecessor, remaining faithful to the world’s most popular tabletop RPG ruleset while expanding its scope. Players will assemble a team of four adventurers and guide them to Neokos, a mysterious and magic-filled continent where they must face Shadwyn, a powerful antagonist driven by her quest for redemption and domination.
The gameplay promises to stay true to its tabletop roots, offering a mix of strategic turn-based combat and the freedom to explore the vast and richly detailed world. Tactical Adventures aims to provide players with a complete RPG experience, combining intricate gameplay mechanics with the latest technology, including stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Key features of Solasta II include fully voiced and customizable party members, a cooperative online mode for up to four players, and tactical battles that leverage the depth of the Dungeons & Dragons 5E ruleset. Additionally, the game will be optimized for both PC and console, offering seamless gameplay regardless of the platform.
