Death Stranding 2: On The Beach: When Kojima Gets Loose

Kojima Hideo is working on several games at once, but this will be the first to be released – but what can we expect?

In addition to Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, OD is in development for Xbox, and Physint is also in the works, but it’s still in the early stages of development, with the Japanese genius saying it’s being made because fans keep asking when a new Metal Gear will be made. But until then, we can expect a sequel to his first post-Konami title. Death Stranding was a strange title, but the soundtrack was excellent, the visuals were pleasing, for example, but it divided audiences because some people didn’t think it was a game, with a story that saw the United States falling apart and Sam ‘Porter’ Bridges having to deliver packages to unite the country.

It’s not known if Kojima knew about the pandemic, but he wrote the story for the sequel back in 2019, but after the outbreak, he completely reworked the story to include a role for the pandemic’s impact on the human race. Based on the gameplay released so far from the second game, it’s safe to say that Kojima is off the leash this time. He let his imagination run wild. The first game was all about implementing the ideas he had developed at Konami, but the sequel allows him to take the concepts and ideas he had in the first game and incorporate the elements he had cut out.

Hopefully, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will also have an online component, so you’ll be able to see the work of other players in the world. A particularly aggressive chasm can be crossed by a bridge created by a player who is far ahead in the game. Liking that object will give that player an advantage in the game. Other than that, we never got to interact with them, but there was some really clever implied storytelling just by looking at what other players had left behind. We could see the failed attempts, like the side of a cliff that others had tried to shore up, only to fall into a river and decide to build a real bridge. It was good to see that we were not alone in our struggles, even if there was no one else around for hundreds of miles in the game.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach 2025 will be one of the biggest hits on PlayStation 5.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
