Continuing the trend, this time the same person has shared an image of the next-generation platform of the big N, which has not yet been officially unveiled and therefore not yet christened, which the Japanese company must do by the end of March anyway.
The Nintendo Switch 2 (which, despite not having an official name, is rumored to be what the big N will call its new hybrid platform) continues the trend of appearing in the news almost daily that started this week, and this time the same person who shared a picture on Twitter as last time has shared a picture. NextHandheld, who last reported on the dock (albeit partly with the help of an artificial intelligence-generated image), has now hinted at a new element.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will also have Joy-Cons. This time, the small controllers can be detached from the handheld, so if you want to play with a friend on it, you can give them the other one and use the small display to play games. From the picture, it looks like this Joy-Con will be black, which is odd because it was supposed to be a blue and orange model. It probably wants to be orange, but then everything should be orange by default, not the left edge of the picture.
And what is at the left edge of the picture? That might be the strap. It looks a bit unusual, but whatever, because after the Switch, you have to accept that the Japanese company might innovate here and there, because the Switch 2 might not be the same in every way as its predecessor. In terms of size, it will be bigger (both display and dock), but apart from that, we should not forget the only feature that Nintendo has confirmed so far. There will also be backwards support, so the Switch 2 will be able to run Switch games. Better yet, it will continue to be one of the best-selling platforms in the world.
The announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 is likely to be made by the big N soon.
